DHS grants SAFETY Act liability relief for software based on NIST cyber framework

The Department of Homeland Security has awarded a SAFETY Act designation for a software platform by Cybernance that is based on the voluntary framework of cybersecurity standards issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology – a first-of-its-kind designation under the anti-terrorism law that grants liability relief for users of the software from cyber attacks.
